Undecylenic Acid is a colorless oil derived from the pyrolysis of rincinoleic acid. Undecylenic acid is converted to 11-aminoundecanoic acid on an industrial scale. This aminocarboxylic acid is the precursor to Nylon-11. It’s aldehydes are also used in fragrance applications. Undecylenic Acid is approved by the FDA for topical applications as part of a treatment for fungal infections.
